Looking good! I'm impressed with how quickly you're moving this project along.

Anytime I do a project car I force myself to do 2 hours minimum a night. Some nights its a fight but most nights I am speedy home from work to take out some frustration by wrenching. Thanks for following Dean! My motivation comes from the fact that I have a 52' L-120, 49' KB-6 and 49' Chevy 3600 4x4 NAPCO waiting to get to. Money and time dependent I can usually do one every 6 months frame and back.

For the normal spots which are rusted out I got pretty lucky. Floor boards should be the only repair on this one.

Frame blasted and painted this weekend. Got it to a point where parts are actually going back onto the truck! This week's schedule, cleanup from blasting, replace shocks, swap out all fluids in diffs, trans, and t-case while everything is accessible. Metal work on the cab inside if it rains.

T-case fluids out. Didn't look too bad for sitting for 8 years. No metal in the bucket which is always a good thing! Rear brake lines started as well.

Re: Start of 1210 Rebuild/Refurbish

Sorry for the slow down but I was up in Alaska on a project for a few weeks. Back to it today! Let's see rear and front brake lines ran. New shocks installed. Differentials changed and re-sealed. Started on floor pans and welding. I think I have about 10 feet of welding and grinding to go before paint so if I can stay focused with the boring work I should be able to get it to paint in the next two weeks. Oh and most important! I've been working to get this truck for months and finally made a smoking deal. Truck has 60K original and documented miles. Of all the trucks I have done this is by far the most complete truck for the cheapest amount of money I've ever purchased. truck is 100% there. Nothing missing, all latches, switches present and functioning. Under carriage hardly a spot of rust. One pane of cracked glass.

Do you plan on taking the spring sets apart to remove the blast sand? What about the differential? Are you planning on new seals at a minimum and maybe look for blast sand in the bearings?
I would rather have tools I do not need than to need tools I do not have

Re: Start of 1210 Rebuild/Refurbish

I did not take apart the spring packs. I will regret it more than likely in the future as "rust" may or may not leak out. As far as sand is concerned I rinse each one at 4000 psi with my hotsy so whatever is left is minimal. I have already re-done the diffs. No Sand present and they were all in great shape. I will post some pics tomorrow. I have media blasted over 60 plus cars and trucks. I know people are wary about sand but a sealed system is a sealed system regardless so unless there is a leak or hole somewhere, the sand is not getting in. Besides I only blast at 60 psi and that's not much at all.
