Re: 1972 1110 4X4

You're welcome Bill.
I'm not easily stumped but that brake adjuster deal got me. I'd still like the answer to the mystery though. How did you rectify the problem anyway?

So,the guy that bought it is going to join? It might be a good idea if he "adopts" this thread since there's so much info for the truck in it. Makes no sense at all to start a new one.

If you didn't get an LST with the new truck, best to look into one.

Re: 1972 1110 4X4

Thanks,Scottso! now that I have a GOOD BASE for the KB5 swap,I'm definitely going to contact the Wisconsin Historical Society, and purchase line tickets, for the '48 KB3,KB5,and the '72 1210 Travelall. The accelerator pump in the Holley 2-barrel,(on the 345),doesn't "pump",more than likely caused by engine not running in a few years. I "Googled" Holley 2-Barrel Rebuild kits, but nothing for the 2300 Series,(300 CFM)-Just the 500 CFM. You Da Man,Scottso! Any advice?? What is your opinion of "Motorcraft"?? THANK-YOU,AGAIN!! B.T.W...on the brake adjuster,I followed your advice, and removed the adjuster hardware from the pass. side brake. I told the "New Owner" about the dilemma, and he's going through his parts barn,to see what he can come up with. It's "HIS BABY",Now!! THANKS,AGAIN!!

Do not forget that we have a "carburetor" guy on the forum, he may also have leads for kits.

Re: 1972 1110 4X4

Unfortunately LST's didn't come out until ca. 1950 IIRC, I've never seen nor heard of them for any earlier models.

The acc. pump diaphragm was a fast moving part,we probably had no less than 10 in the bin at all times. Pulled another pn from memory... 243210R91

For a kit it would be best to get the numbers off the carb.,on the 2300 they are stamped on the air horn and if OEM both the IH and Holley list numbers should be there.

Here's a link to Jon's (carbking) site;

Not sure what you mean by Motorcraft? The carbs? Theres one (mod.# 2200) that looks exactly like the Holley 2300. I'm pretty sure it's a Holley design(?). My mom had a '70 Ambassador with a 360 that had one,the first carb. I ever rebuilt. Good carb. I think and simple to rebuild. I "inherited" it for my first car too,I think AMC was very under rated that thing had some ballz for a wagon. They did seem to have a hodge podge of things on them though, the carb. ,a Motorola alternator and Delco-Remy distributor, also used the York piston type AC compressor same as IH did which IMO were the best. That car and my Scout2 had the coldest AC of anything I've ever driven, which is A LOT of cars & trucks
That brings back good memories of when I actually enjoyed working on vehicles, things were simple then. Image

Re: 1972 1110 4X4

Thanks for the info,Scottso! "Carbking is also famous,on "stovebolt.com",for vintage Chebby/G.M.C. truck fans. He KNOWS HIS STUFF!! Kinda like a guy named "Scottso"! I fixed up a '55 2nd-Series 6500 2-ton. New tires,brakes,18-circuit wiring harness, seat, gas tank,Fenton headers,(for my 261 in-line 6), and dual stacks, from a '73 Dodge "Lil Red Express",etc.etc....It took 5 years to get it where it looked and ran good, and then I sold it,just because it wasn't what I Really wanted...A Daily Driver. :t3717: Just not a good idea, with a 2-ton truck,no matter how "COOL" it is! Now I have the BEST of Both Worlds... TWO Daily Drivers, with nothing but "
COOL" Factor! Best part is,I STILL have money left for PARTS!! :t0201:

Re: 1972 1110 4X4

The NEW OWNER of the 1110,just contacted me,and says that he got the 345 running, swapped in a different gauge,(I just purchased/installed a "Sun" unit),and the engine registers about 40 # of oil pressure! :h0212: GREAT NEWS!! Neither one of "Us" got hurt in our "Deal"!! Here's a "Pic",of the "Yard Dog"..https://scontent-ord1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hp ... e=5684EC80

Hey Bill... Looky what I stumbled on!

Image

Sure looks like what you were looking for? Bad thing is where I found it doesn't give any application info,it's just shows the different types of self adjuster set-ups. There are more than I realized too.

I'd still like to know more, like the mfr. and applications. I mean,it's in that manual I stumbled on so can't be all that unique.
