Re: Rear end identification

Without knowing what it came from, all I can say it is likely one of the many IHC made rears. R30?
Can't read any of the casting numbers.
edit: was able to blow up enough to read,
Either the RA15 or RA 20 take that casting number. Ratio could be anything between 4.30 to 6.17

Re: Rear end identification

If what you really want to know is: will parts from another maker fit (Dana or someone else) the answer is no. I was designed and built for/by IHC. I have no idea if they farmed out the gear hobbing or did the machining "in house". None of that matters when it comes to gear-sets that can be used.
Just like Mack, IHC designed and built a lot of the rears used in their trucks.

Re: Rear end identification

People used to stop and ask me if they could take a picture of my dog in the driver seat of my semi. He looked like he was driving.
