Re: Air horn

Have not seen him on for awhile, but one of the members up North put one on his truck. Manfred is his name.

Re: Air horn

You'll need a source of compressed air and either a solonoid valve or a manual valve to control it. Both the later can be had a turck parts supply house.

Re: Air horn

I put a vacuum driven compressor on my truck for a while with a canister,

had an electric solenoid on it, I ended up taking it off as it was loud, but air canister was too small for sustained honk.

if you want to get someones attention you can buy "freight train" horns from many sources,

while not the actual horn on a train, sounds like it when you press the button,

Re: Air horn

This might help some...

Grover is the brand IH has used for eons.

I had them on a ScoutII and used a vacuum powered compressor which did the job but didn't last too long since all my friends just had to play with the horn.

They sure wake people up!

A good compressor/tank can be pricey though. If I was to use one again I'd get an electric solenoid valve and wire is along with the regular horn through a toggle switch so I could just flip the switch from air to city.
