hd213 distributor removal

How do you remove the distributor from the block in a 1937 hd213 engine?
The distributor is a Delco Remy 622r.
Thanks

One screw. It just falls out, basically. The gear is on the oil pump.

Re: hd213 distributor removal

It's towards the bottom. These dists rotate back and forth in the block. So the dist is never bolted down tight. One screw holds it all in.

Re: hd213 distributor removal

Thanks for the help....
I had already removed the bolt the distributor was just stuck in the block.
A little tapping around the base and pressure and turning it let loose and came out. I've got a couple of d-2 pickups. One of them was my Grandfathers and that is the one I'm trying to restore back to orignal. I will more than likely be here looking for more help before I'm done.
Thanks

Doc,

I have a distributor stuck solid in the engine block. I've been soaking it every day for a week with penetrating oil. Not moving at all. I have plenty of time. Wish me luck.
