RO-162

I just bought a 1953 RO-162 Coe IHC truck. I am having trouble finding any info on this truck. The serial number plate says that its an SD240 motor but I cannot find any info about it. Can anyone shed some light about this truck for me?

Re: RO-162

I don't see RO but I see RC in Crismon. Is it RC?
I have a copy of Fred Crismon's book INTERNATIONAL TRUCKS. It will have some info. For year of production and total production the University of Wisconsin has the Navistar Archives. You can look them up online.
Sounds like a 162 inch wheelbase truck.
We love pics here. Please post as many as you can.
And welcome! Thanks, Don

Re: RO-162

rick,
Check that plate again- as Smog_guy said it's probably an RC162. That breaks down to R series, C for cabover, 162 indicates a heavier weight capacity rating than the base 160 series truck.
