How do I locate a Spicer 5831 Auxiliary gear box

I need help in locating a Dana Spicer 5831 Three speed auxiliary transmission with a .73 overdrive. I know that these are getting really hard to find!, but am told by a lot of Truck guys that they are still out there somewhere. Please email me if you can help. donwilson5201@gmail.com

Thanks Don

Try a Goggle search. I did and a few came up, whether they are still for sale or not I have no idea.

Re: How do I locate a Spicer 5831 Auxiliary gear box

Where are you located? Watch ebay and craigslist and whatever other classifieds there are around you. I got my 5831 by posting a want ad on craigslist. What are you putting it in? I just put mine in my L-160 and though I haven't got it out on the highway it feels like it'll work out right but there's a pretty big jump between direct and over in forth. It splits the gears in a T-98 four-speed just right.
What I'd really like to do is find a 5831C and a higher geared rear end so I could use all three gears on the brownie and have smaller steps. I'd be open to a swap if you found a "C" model and SW Washington is doable for you.

I need the 5831 with the .73 overdrive for my 1976 R model Mack puckup truck that I am building. The Mack 5 speed manual trans has been removed and I have installed a Allison HT740 four speed auto.
