My Truck’s New Name is Pete

“Pete” a 1952 L-112 followed me home June 30, 2007. The truck had one previous driver; Mr. Ray Peterson. Mr. Peterson owned an IH truck dealership in Crystal, Minnesota.

When he passed away, Mr. Peterson’s daughter, Mary took possession of the truck. After a few years, she and her brother decided to sell “Pete”. The truck had not been started and operated in over 5 years. My son-in-law found the truck at the end of Mary’s driveway. For $750, the truck was mine and I decided to name it Pete for the first owner. Within 24 hours, I had flushed the fuel tank, blown out the lines, cleaned the sediment bowl and carb and Pete was running up and down the driveway. The truck has only 52,000 miles on it, very little rust, no holes and a complete interior. It will get a paint job this winter. I needed to change the brake lines and clean Pete up with the goal of driving it to and displaying it at the 2007 Nowthen Threshing Show in Nowthen, Minnesota on August 17-19. Monday August 6, I drove the truck into town to fill the gas tank. Guess you know what that means – see you at the threshing show! Brian52 (also drives a 1956 300 Utility)
