Currently restoring our 1952 L-132 with the Silver Diamond engine.  Can anyone advise the factory correct paint color and a source or P/N to mix the paint?  It appears the base or primer coat was red (looks just like red oxide primer) but don't know if that was the topcoat or if it was topcoated another color (silver)?  Thanks!

This is what the majority have come up with so far.

Old age and treachery over comes youth and education. If it ain't broke don't fix it? What fun would that be? … OR… If it ain't broke it can't be fixed! Either way, it's no fun! '55 R-164, '52 L-150, '50 L-150

I have a picture from an original owners manual posted in member galleries under Harry51. Mostly silver like the name. Dupli-Color engine enamel spray can DE 1615 Aluminum works well.

Well my silver diamond also had that orange-red primer but most of the engine was silver with some of the accessories black, the water pump pulley, oil bath breather, starter, motor mount brackets were all black i dont know about the oil filter housing but im gonna paint mine silver with a black cap, as for the oilpan im not sure as paint didnt survive on this, Ive given some thought to the oilpan and Ive come to the conclusion that if it were silver it would be easy to detect leaks in the future but black would hide leaks whatever you prefer, ive decided that a black oilpan would look good under all the silver
