Flood Damage Repair
How to get a flooded truck running again.
Just over 2 months ago, we had the worst flood in history for this part of southern Indiana. It rained up to 10 inches in less than 6 hours, and put 6 feet of floodwater in the garage. I have 6 IH trucks, but only 1 running again so far. (3 are for parts as I buy what I can, whenever I can!)
I first had to drain the water out of the oil pan, (that seemed to take several minutes) and get corn stalks off of the hood, and out of the engine compartment. I then pulled each of the sparkplugs, and turned the engine over by hand. The batteries were ruined, as well as the starters. Also, any gas tank had to be drained, to get out any silt left behind.
After all this work, from a trial and error viewpoint, I did get 1 running well enough to use. I’m deep into watching my house go back together, and after the new garage is built, I’ll be able to work on them all someday…

That would be hard to take, To see things that you have done so much work on & are proud of, I dont know what I would do. You must live in low ground?
I sure hope you can get every thing back to the way they were before all this happened.
If I lived arouned There I would help you, I have lots of older trucks & there all part of the family.
I hope you get them going again.
