Another to add to the list is Ron Francis Wire Works – Ron has been in business since 1974, the true pioneer of aftermarket wiring harnesses & works with customers on a one-on-one basis as much as allowably possible. A personal reply to a post on a message forum from Ron can be found here http://www.hotrodders.com/forum/wiring-harness-78997-2.html
I purchased the AP-97 (1997 fuse panel) in 2001 even though there was a new panel created because the AP-97 had 64 circuits! ATM fuses were also a plus because if I have to carry anything* “spare”, I want it to take up as little space as possible. This is what I told him my demands were. “Everything I need to wire the truck back to original once it is gutted. Including Ammeter, ‘Front Axle Engaged’ light, dome, courtesy and cargo area lights… everything back to original. I also want to add a circuit breaker panel for the rear seating & cargo area, for amplifier(s), power inverters, etc. and I especially want the Ground Wire Kit so I never again experience problems with sheet metal/steel grounds”
His reply, “What steering Column, what Alternator and what Ignition Switch? An Ammeter wire kit will cover the Ammeter, is that okay? Should I put you down for an Accessory Wiring Kit? Anything else?”
I then ordered a couple of 100pc bags (100ea male & female) of Faston (now Tyco/Amp) terminals a bag of 50 bulb repair terminals and a bag of 50 female headlight terminals (wider Fastons). I had to source the connectors used in the bulkhead (male & female) as well as the instrument connectors (female), so I could wire in my OEM gauges… I had enough old Mack Truck and Century Boat terminals to do this.
FYI, the new numbers for those, bullet-type “packard” terminals would be:
MSD #8824 Kit
Block/Connector Mate-N-Lock
Plug (Male) 480318
Receptacle {Female) 480319
Teminals
Socket (Female) 60617/60617-6

Please check Tyco’s site with part number to view the part you need, due to some having single and some having double locking tabs. Certain situations might require the use of one specifically.
